Leaders for Nature is a global learning and action oriented network of national initiatives that bring together current and future business leaders around three general themes: ecosystems and nature conservation, sustaining the business and leadership. The programme of Leaders for Nature consist of inspirational meetings, master classes, an executive meeting, a Young Leaders for Nature Forum and a learning journey. In 2006 more than 90 'captains of Industry' signed an open letter to the upcoming Dutch cabinet in order to stress the conservation of nature, ecosystems and climate change and sustainable business practices. This initiative was followed up by an initiative of young professionals of 25 companies which stressed that they wanted to assist the captains of industry in order to integrate sustainability into the day to day business.
